Isabelle ('Izzy') Ferrada, the 2008 National BMX Racing Champion for 10-12 Girls, has completed her 2009 National season in 13-15 Girls. Starting the season with a win in the East Anglia Winter Series of Formula 3 races, Izzy followed this up with moto race wins in the 2009 National Series.

Despite being the youngest in the age group, Izzy consolidated her 3rd place in the 2009 National Rankings with 2nd places in the final four rounds of the National Series. This was then followed up with 2nd in the British Championships.

The year finished with 3 Regional Championships, the East Anglia, Midlands and South West Championships. Izzy is now ranked #1 by British Cycling in the new 13/14 year old girl class for 2010.

Perhaps highlight of 2009 was winning Round 13 of the European Series for 13/14 Girls, her first ever European race win! She is shown on the podium flanked by Ynske Tichelt (Belgium) and Anna Rojas (Switzerland).

Riding for AlansBMX/Shimano DXR, 3 times National Team Champions in the last 4 years, Izzy has also competed in the 2009 European BMX Championships held in Fredericia, Denmark. The only 13 year old girl representing Great Britain, she made it through the 4 Qualifying races, but just missed out on reaching the Championship Final by 2 places.
